St. Mary in Ashford Chapter No 802 recently conducted a Perfection and an Enthronement all in the same evening.
The Chapter had recently experienced the very sad passing of its Most Wise Sovereign, E&P Bro. John Strange 18° and so Ill. Bro. Malcolm Smith 32° stood in as the acting Most Wise Sovereign for the evening.
The ceremony of Perfection was performed with the support and aid of several Past Sovereigns and all those in attendance witnessed an excellent ceremony some of which incorporated the new ritual.
When this had been completed the newly Perfected Prince was proclaimed and he duly took his seat in the Chapter. The Enthronement Ceremony then began.
E&P Bro. Richard McAllister 18° was then Enthroned as the new Most Wise Sovereign of the St. Mary in Ashford Chapter. The ceremony was, once again, performed perfectly. The Installing MWS concluded with the Address to the newly made Sovereign and then requested that he invest his Officers after which the Recorder of the Chapter, our District Recorder Ill. Bro. Trevor Youens 31°, gave the Address to the Princes.
The evening was rounded off with a four-course dinner which was thoroughly enjoyed by all in attendance as can be seen by the attached photograph.
The newly perfected bother Nicholas Babicz said “ Wow what a wonderful and beautiful ceremony”. He really enjoyed the whole evening, as did all the brethren in attendance on this very special evening.
