On Monday 2nd October 2023 the St. Augustine Chapter hosted a very special meeting when the Inspector General for the District of East Kent, V.Ill.Bro. Roger Howard Waltham 33° was re-presented with the Patent of Office by M.Ill.Bro Rev Dr Simon Thorn 33°, Grand Prior of the Supreme Council. The presentation was done with great warmth and in an excellent manner. We all look forward to another 5 years of the warmth, humour and excellent leadership of our Inspector General.

Ill.Bro. Trevor Youens 31° then gave the talk entitled “Perfection in Perspective” by M.P.Bro. Revd Canon Richard Tydeman 33°, Past Sovereign Grand Commander. A most enlightening delivery which was concluded with applause.

The meeting was also a special occasion for Ill.Bro. Malcolm Smith 32° who was presented with a certificate from the Inspector General to mark the 50 years since his perfection in 1973. Ill.Bro. Malcolm was truly humbled by the remarks of the Inspector General and the congratulations of the assembled brethren. Malcolm responded with a splendid account of the 50 years he had enjoyed on his journey in the Antient and Accepted Rite.
Also in attendance on this very well supported occasion was the Inspector General for West Kent, V.Ill.Bro. Graham Higgs 33° and event organisers, our District Recorder, Ill.Bro. Russ Wibrew 32° and the District Recorder designate, Ill.Bro. Trevor Youens 31°.

It was also a pleasant surprise and absolute pleasure to see Ill.Bro. Roger Odd 32° who expressed how good it was to be up and about and that he thoroughly enjoyed the evening events.

The evening was rounded off with a wonderful meal which was enjoyed in excellent company. St. Augustine Chapter fully deserve the accolades for hosting such a memorable and enjoyable meeting.
