With the impact of the Covid pandemic over the last few years restricting events it came as a real pleasure to be able to hold our Church Service again at the All Saints Church in Woodchurch on Sunday 2nd October 2022.

Before conducting the Evensong Service The Rev Philip Gordon Cox gave thanks to The Rector and Church Warden for allowing us to hold the service at the wonderful All Saints Church, to the Organist for making himself available to play the organ and to the Ladies of Woodchurch who spent much time in the setting up of tables and chairs so we could all enjoy refreshments after the service.

The Service had a theme very much linked to Rose Croix and Love, Brotherly Love for one and other, the Love from God to us and our Love to God. Our Inspector General Roger Waltham read the
First lesson: 1 Corinthians, Chapter 13, verses 1-13.
The Second Lesson was read by The District recorder Russ Wibrew :
St John, Chapter 13, verses 31-35.

With a well-attended congregation which included family and friends of our order one could feel a sense of togetherness which most definitely conveyed the warm feeling of Brotherly Love. Accompanied by the excellent organ music all the Hymns were sung with loud voice. The Service was concluded with the “Blessing”.

Following the Evensong Service all present stayed to enjoy each other’s company.

The home-made cakes and a plentiful supply of tea and coffee went down very well. It was an absolute pleasure to once again enjoy a church service and could certainly reflect back to the well-known verse “Let us then observe this new commandment to love one another” especially in our current troubled and unsettled times. We will all now look forward to our next service.
