Another super meeting of Belmont Chapter Rose Croix No 611 was held at the Stelling Minnis Village Hall on Tuesday 8 March 2022. The Chapter was graced with the presence of the Inspector General of the District of Ease Kent, V Ill Bro Roger Waltham 33° and the District Recorder, Ill Bro Russ Wibrew 32°. In addition, there was a plethora of brethren from across the District of East Kent who had come to see Belmont Chapter settling down in its new surroundings.
Thanks to the efforts of various navigation devices, all the visitors finally managed to locate the village of Stelling Minnis and were immediately treated to a conducted tour of the village Hall to see how it had been transformed into a building able to undertake a Rose Croix Perfection Ceremony.
The first part of the meeting was to perfect Bro David Reddecliffe. The Intermediate Degrees were undertaken by Ill Comp Richard Alldridge and the First Point was conducted by Ill Bro Trevor Youens, a guest of the Chapter who heads-up the District’s new ‘Party Piece’ initiative.
The Second Point was undertaken by the Most Wise Sovereign, E&P Bro Peter Herbert, and the Collar, Jewel and Signs were explained by Ill Bro Steve Carpenter.
A Supreme Council certificate was then presented in a delightful manner by the Inspector General to E&P Bro Kevin Barnaville who had been perfected at the last meeting of the Chapter.
Ill Bro Roger Odd 32° was then declared as Most Wise Sovereign and E&P Bro Peter Herbert was declared as Treasurer for the ensuing year, both of whom looked forward to the Installation Meeting in May.
After a few pieces of administrative business, came the surprise of the evening, when the Inspector General announced that he had come to present a Certificate marking 40 years of continuous service in Rose Croix Masonry to Ill Bro Roger Odd. The Inspector General spoke about the “World in 1982” and the time Ill Bro Roger had spent in Rose Croix since being Perfected in Wyke Chapter No 306 in Yorkshire North and East Ridings on 26 February 1982.
Ill Bro Roger spoke about his early years in Rose Croix in Yorkshire and how he was proud to see the Belmont Chapter No 611 settle into its new surroundings at Stelling Minnis.
After the Third Point was sincerely and beautifully carried out, the brethren then retired to prepare for the meal afterwards. Kind words were spoken about the new surroundings, and the wonderful meeting that everyone present had enjoyed. The Inspector General concluded the evening by congratulating the Chapter saying, “Three out of Three; Good Ritual, Good Fellowship, and Good Food”
